Mug Chessdown

Chessdown

You command two to four pieces with real chess moves. On your turn you move each of them once and take what you can reach — then the conveyor advances, everything slides down, and a fresh wave enters at the top. The board moves whether or not you do.

Daily Today

One run, the same team and the same waves for everyone, until midnight UTC.

Endless Endless

Survive as long as you can. Your score is what you capture plus how far you climb, and taking several pieces in one turn is worth more than taking them one at a time.

How a turn goes

  • Tap one of your pieces to pick it up. The squares it can reach are marked; a ring means a capture.
  • Tap a marked square to move there. Each piece may move once a turn — a spent piece greys out.
  • Red squares are ones the enemy attacks. Standing on one is a decision, not an accident.
  • End your turn when you are done. Enemies take what they can reach, then the conveyor advances.

How a run ends

  • An enemy reaches the bottom. This is how almost every run ends — it is a defence game first.
  • You lose your last piece, to the conveyor or to a capture.
  • You stop. Resigning keeps your score, which is the only way to bank a run that is going well.
  • Scores are checked by replaying your moves on the server, so a leaderboard is what happened.
